The Custom Shop Experience

Solid and semi-hollow electric ukuleles and tenor guitars by Fanner

Start Your Journey

Owning a custom electric ukulele or handmade tenor guitar from Fanner is more than a purchase—it’s an experience. From the moment you place your deposit, you step behind the scenes of our artisan guitar workshop. We’ll invite you to your own digital Kanban card, giving you real-time access to the build process.

Think of it as your backstage pass: you’ll watch your custom instrument take shape, follow progress photos, and chat directly with the Fanner team crafting it. And if you prefer email updates, we’ll keep you in the loop every step of the way.

At this stage, you don’t have to lock in every option or model. We’ll guide you through finishes, hardware, and specs so your custom ukulele or guitar reflects your sound and style perfectly.

The Build: Craftsmanship in Motion

Every Fanner electric ukulele and tenor guitar receives the personal attention of the Fanner brothers. From the timber shop to the paint booth to final assembly, your build is hands-on, carefully crafted, and set up with a low action so it’s ready to play right out of the box.

Most parts are made in-house for maximum quality control. Our pickups are hand scatter-wound with Alnico V magnets and wax-potted in beeswax from our own hives. This traditional process ensures a rich, distinctive tone while eliminating unwanted feedback. Whether you choose a solid body ukulele for punch and sustain or a semi-hollow ukulele for warmth and resonance, you’ll own an instrument with a voice all its own.

The Finish Line

Most of our custom ukuleles and tenor guitars range between USD 600 and USD 1200, with the balance due at the end of the build (usually between USD 150 and USD 800 depending on your options). Shipping is included in the final invoice, and you choose whether we handle duties and taxes upfront or leave that to you.

Build times are typically 6 to 12 weeks, but can be longer, depending on your chosen specs. Once complete, your instrument is shipped in a premium padded gig bag via FedEx or UPS. Delivery usually takes 4 to 14 days, putting your dream instrument in your hands before you know it.
