The sound

A baritone solid body electric ukulele with a distinctive, modern voice—built to thrive with overdrive and standard guitar effects through a guitar amp. That unique character is part of the core design.Read more about the Jazzmistress here: Fanner Electric Ukulele

Demo listening: This YouTube demo by Surf-Rz showcases the baritone Jazzmistress. This was a full custom buld with a tremolo but the sound is identical to the standard when he is not using the trem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIv5Gcd5NQY&list=RDbIv5Gcd5NQY&start_radio=1

This demo on our own YouTube channel is of another full custom with an added pickup mods and a Thinline body. It still a close match to the standard Jazzmistress.

Strings guidance

  • Uses regular electric guitar strings.

  • Common options: The middle 4 off of a set of 10’s for a baritone tuned DGBE, so 2,3,4,5. You can also put the first four on a baritone, to tune low GCEA.

  • Thinner strings can reduce tuning stability; thicker strings are an option though.

  • 12s feel tight; 13s may feel very stiff. Preferences vary by player.

Lead time

Approximately 6 weeks. Standard builds are generally faster than full custom builds because bodies and necks are frequently in stock, painted or ready for finishing.
