The Body
Time warp metallic silver-grey on a handcrafted reclaimed Douglas Fir body.
This unique timber has a fascinating history. We salvaged it from the German minesweeper ‘Ulm,’ which was built in the 1950s using European-grown Douglas Fir. The ‘Ulm’ was later sold to the South African Navy and ultimately dismantled in Simonstown.
Although plantation grown, this Dougas Fir is a superb choice for a ukulele body. Seasoned by decades at sea, it has all the same benefits as torrefied timber. The wood is strong, light, stable and very resistant to atmospheric changes.
Minesweepers were built out of timber to be able protect themselves from magnetic mines.
Introduced to Europe in 1827, Douglas fir was planted commercially in Europe from the turn of the century. To have been big enough for the timbers used in shipbuilding, our reclaimed wood must have been from an early plantation as the trees take 50 years or more to reach maturity.

The Neck
Unleash your full musical potential with our hand-shaped Mahogany neck with an Ebony fretboard, designed for great playability. Bone coloured resin dot markers make chords easy to place.

Fitted with an adjustable truss rod, the Mahogany neck is, however, robust enough for a ukulele-sized instrument, so you likely won’t need to make any adjustments.

The Pickups
Classic triple single coil neck pickups. Single coils produce a bright sound with lots of zing.
A five way selector switch coupled with tone and volume controls, which allows for easy control of a wide range of tonal effects from the ukulele itself.
Discover unparalleled tone with pick-ups that are hand scatter wound and treated with the traditional method of wax potting. The hot bees wax soak enhances the distinctive tone and eliminates any unwanted feedback.

This 20 inch baritone solid body electric ukulele is carefully set-up with a comfortable low action, so that its ready to rock, straight out of the box!
Ideal for kids and adults of all ages.
Many of the parts are created in-house from scratch, eg the bridge control plate, pickups and the neck. The only outsourced parts are the electronics and the machine-heads.
Padded gig-bag is included.
The total size is 685 x 240 x 50 mm. That’s 27″ x 9.5″ x 2″ for y’all in the US.

The Sound
This is a solid body baritone electric ukulele with a unique sound that lends itself to being played with over-drive and other standard electric guitar effects. As such it needs to be played through a guitar amplifier.

Strings are regular electric guitar strings. You can use a set of 11’s and add a 13 for a high g or use the fourth string from the set for a low G. You can use thinner strings but the tuning stability becomes less manageable with thinner strings. Thicker strings are also ok. 12’s give a tight feel but 13’s are a bit too stiff. It comes down to personal preference.
