A unique little instrument created using mostly recycled timber from various species. Most of our parts are created in-house, for example; the bridge control plate, pickups and the neck.
The Guitar’s pick-ups are hand scatter wound on traditional fiberboard flatwork bobbins, and wax potted – meaning they are soaked in hot bees wax – giving them a distinctive tone with no unwanted feedback. Controls are pickup selector, volume and tone knobs.
Carefully set up with a comfortable low action and ready to rock out of the box!
Woodwork is hand finished, sanded and spray-painted in-house.
The scale length is tenor 22.8″. The total size is 825 x 260 x 50 mm. The neck is 35mm wide at the nut. Radiused fretboard.
High Quality strings by Stringjoy.

Nguni Tenor Electric Guitar – The Sound

This is an electric solid body guitar, which must be played through a guitar amplifier. It has a unique sound that lends itself to being played with over-drive and other standard electric guitar effects.
Strings are regular electric guitar strings. You can use a set of 11’s and add a 13 for a high g or use the fourth string from the set for a low G. You can use thinner strings, however the tuning stability becomes less manageable when using thinner strings. Thicker strings are also ok. 12’s give a tight feel but 13’s are a bit too stiff. It comes down to personal preference.
